SUSE4 Accomodations

SUSE4 is being held at the Haw River State Park, 339 Conference Center Drive, Browns Summit, NC 27214. The Summit Conference Center is located about 30 minutes north of Greensboro, NC and 1.5 hours west of Raleigh, NC. The Summit Center at Haw River State Park is located in the beautiful Piedmont region of North Carolina and includes lodging, meeting spaces, dining, and recreational facilities (a pool, walking trails, canoeing). Bus/van transportation to/from the conference center will be available from the Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro, NC and the Raleigh-Durham International Airport.

Lodging options include:

Dormitory Style Cabins: There are 4 bunk beds and a bathroom with a shower per cabin. Cabin assignments will be on a first-come, first-served basis. PLEASE NOTE: Due to overwhelming demand for the 8-person cabins, we are going to ask individuals who registered for this option to bring their own pillows, sleeping bags, and linens. Haw River State Park does not supply linens for these accommodations, and we had planned on supplying linens for only a small number of cabins (expecting low demand). Attendees who reserved cabins will be contacted at a later date with more information and the meeting organizers will work with attendees to make sure everyone is taken care of. Cost is $105 for all 3 nights ($35/night)All registrants must pay for all 3 nights since we are renting the entire facility for that time period.

Motel Style Cottages: The majority of these rooms feature one double and one single bed. All of these rooms have a private bath. Linens will be provided as well. Cost is $195 for all 3 nights ($65/night) for a shared, 2-person room (with 2 beds). A limited number of rooms are available with 1 double bed for $330 for all 3 nights ($110/night) and a limited number of rooms with 2 beds will be available for single occupancy for $330 for all 3 nights as well. Availability is limited for these options. ADA one-person and shared, 2-person rooms are also available for the same price. All registrants must pay for all 3 nights since we are renting the entire facility for that time period.

Other amenities include:

Food options:

The food for the entire meeting is included in your registration. A chef will be preparing real meals throughout the week and can cater to dietary restrictions. You will be able to request meals that are vegetarian, vegan, kosher, halal, or gluten-free, and you can included in your supplemental registration any other dietary restrictions you have. Storage of cold food is not allowed in the facility’s kitchen and refrigerators are not available in the rooms. Dry foods (snacks, granola bars, etc.) and drinks (as long as they don’t require a refrigerator) can be brought by participants. Meeting organizers have not researched any grocery or convenience stores in the area around Haw River State Park.

Other considerations:

Please note that collections of biological material require a permit and participation in SUSE4 does not imply permission to collect material from the property.

Cancellation and refund policy: Registration may be canceled and all fees refunded any time prior to March 31, 2017. After this date registration fees are non-refundable, but food and lodging costs are refundable until April 30. After April 30, all fees and costs are non-refundable.
